NFL Picks 2009 - Thanksgiving Day

Da fuck, guy?!!!

With there being three games today our phone has been ringing off the hook with people begging for our holiday game picks. Apparently America has a pretty big gambling problem. And it apparently doesn't bother them when I tell them we don't even pick against the spread. What's more, today's games all suck!

So here are the three picks for today, with the rest of the picks and our records to come tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving from the Unsportsmanlikes.

Green Bay Packers (6-4) at Detroit Lions (2-8), 12:30 p.m., Thursday
Dan: This is the last bastion of relevance that the Detroit Lions have left--the Thanksgiving Day game. Their defense lacks the elite front seven that could blast Green Bay's banged up offensive line so badly that it would flip the game in their favor. Their offense lacks, well, anything you could ask for. Score: Green Bay, 30-7

Alex: If it wasn't for the Matthew Stafford injury I might, might, have gone with the Lions. But with things being what they are, the early game will be a bore as has become a custom on Thanksgiving. Score: Green Bay 34-14

Bryan: Green Bay has won a couple in a row and keep it going against a Detroit team that at least tries to show up on Sunday's. Score: Green Bay, 31-17

Oakland Raiders (3-7) at Dallas Cowboys (6-4), 4:15 p.m., Thursday
Dan: The Raiders won last week. That's nice. Here comes another game Dallas' defense wins by itself. Score: Dallas, 19-6

Alex:
The Raiders kind of, sort of saved the Steelers' sorry asses last week by upsetting the Bengals. The Cowboys on the other hand looked like hammered shit against a beat up Washington team that dominated 3 quarters of the game. But Bruce Gradkowski, or whatever the fuck his name is, won't be so lucky in his second start. Or his third. Or his fourth... Score: Dallas 24-14

Bryan: No one's fooled by Oakland's win last weekend. They still suck. Score: Dallas, 38-10

New York Giants (6-4) at Denver Broncos (6-4), 8:20 p.m., Thursday
Dan: This had the makings of a good game until the Broncos shit the bed and lost four straight. Now nobody believes in them. But I have a sneaking suspicion that they ambush the Giants, who will refuse to run Brandon Jacobs 25 times even though Ahmad Bradshaw is out. Yea I could play it safe and pick the Giants like everyone else, but fuck it, Tom Coughlin is bullshit. Score: Denver, 28-24

Alex: Unless someone shits the bed, the loser of this game can pretty much kiss the playoffs goodbye. The Giants looked to have put it together on the offensive side of things but still seem to be getting pushed around on defense. The Broncos are just dogshit. They were all season. Unless they get their kick return/INT return for 6 this week, you can kiss these fuckers goodbye. Score: New York Giants 27-13

Bryan: I think the home field really tilts the scale this game. Denver needs this game to stay alive and I think they hold on late. Score: Denver, 24-21
